Heyhey everyone!

I can finally stay up and do work! I am so happy. It looks like everything is falling nicely into place and i am finally clambering back onto the stallion that galloped through the past 12 years of education and will keep galloping on till the race to the start is over. That made sense. Don't say a word about the metaphor. It just works. In my head, at least.

Then again,nowadays, its so hard to tell if you've finally got the hang of things. One day, you could be scoring well for your tests, grasping concepts easily and birthing confusing,complex ideas that actually make sense and are relevant. And you think to yourself, ' Yeah, way to go. I'm finally doing this right!'. But the next day, you could be drowning in self pity and acedemic mayhem. You never know.

How anti-climatic. For all i know, i might just be deluded. I might not be clambering onto that stallion. It might be charging away into the moonlight, for all i know.

Sigh.

Anyway, i found this awesome singer.She is the frontman of her band, ' A Fine Frenzy'(the name of the band is actually a quote from Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream) . She's like the next best thing since Angus and Julia Stone and Feist. My favourite song by her is entitled 'Almost Lover'. The lyrics are really simple but , ironically, poignant. I guess, it all depends on whether you could attach an emotion or a memory to it.

The original version is filled with melancholy and pain. It reminds me of the song,' Breathe ' by Sia. If you've heard Breathe , you'd know that its a really emo song and most of the time you end up weeping in despair by the end of it. The version i especially like is the remix. Its a lot lighter and has an extremely bitter-sweet quality to it which i feel adds layers to the song and clarity to the message. Take a listen. I know quite a number of you who will definitely like it.

Also, i was reading a book on philosophy and chanced upon Plato's The Republic. I find it particularly fascinating because i actually see parallels between what he proposed in The Republic and The Handmaid's Tale. I am probably pushing what i read too far and over-analysing, throwing myself way off tangent unnecessarily but, we never know.

Basicaly what Plato proposes is a community where there are 'Guardians of the State' and these guardians are not permitted personal property. Sexual intercourse is regulated and citizens are only allowed to have sex at special festivals. The rulers will fix the outcome of the mating lottery so that only those of good breeding stock will be allowed to procreate.Thus Plato's republic has its own form of eugenics designed to produce strong and corageous children. At birth all children are taken away from their mothers to be reared by specially appointed officers.Children of inferior guardians and 'defective' offspring are disposed off.
Please say you see the parallels too.

Sexual regulation, abbolishing a typical family unit, women's indefinite role, disposal of 'defected' babies...

Well, i think its extremely THMT( The HandMaid's Tale) and if you deny it, its probably cos you think its TMTH( Too Much Too Handle). Haha. Sorry. Complete lapse in sanity.

Its late, i should get sleeping. Oh, and daddy got me perfume :) Versace's latest. To die for. Its like an orgasm on your skin and in your nose.
